A panoramic view of the painted desert portion of Petrified Forest National Park, south of Interstate 40 in Arizona. This scenic landscape was photographed as a stitched composite panorama. The park closes early. This photo was taken May 3, 2003 at 6:03pm, 3 minutes after the park is officially closed. So it's as close to a sunset shot as you can get at that time of the year.
The original high resolution photograph has dimensions 2613 pixels tall by 39185 pixels wide, and was precisely cut into five panels with plenty resolution for size 28" x 84", for a total width of all five panels of 420" wide, The medium resolution watermarked images you are seeing here are only 900 pixels tall. (There is no watermark on prints.) Printed as 5 panels, the combined size of the 5 prints would be 28" tall by 420" wide.
