These photos by R. W. Scott are made with high speed flash. Thus, they are able to show flying birds with little or no motion blur.

Female Ruby Throated Hummingbird - Too big for most screens, but you can "pan" the image. Check the "eyelashes" and the tailfeathers. See note below for a similar image by another photographer. Warning: This image is HUGE, and crashes some browsers. I believe that this is the highest resolution image of a hummingbird anywhere on the world wide web.
